Small Group Ministries Conferences & Consultations

Doing Life Together provides six different types of Small Group Ministry Conferences and Consultations.  Each addresses a different need, stage, budget and program design. Whether you have the funding for one of the more personalized one-on-one programs, more extensive custom designed programs or the on-site program where you don’t have to walk alone. Even if you don’t have any funding that’s ok because the Small Group Conferences and the Group Consultation Program is absolutely FREE.Â

All you have to do is pre-register for any one of our upcoming conferences.   Below you will find a brief description of each of our FEE based programs. Unfortunately, there truly is limited availability for each of these programs, so each one is scheduled on a first come first served basis.

Finally, if the live Consulting Programs or the Small Group Ministry Consultations don't work for your church, there is always the Doing Lifetogether DVD and CD based Small Group Ministry Training Packages. 2. Free Small Group Consultations This consultation includes a FREE 60 minute tele-conference which is held on a semi- regular basis in groups of 10-20 churches. Each will be hosted by Brett Eastman and a group of other Small Group Practitioners and Pastors telling their stories and strategies that have worked for them.

 A short presentation will be given on how to build a healthy small group ministry in your church and then churches will be called on to share their church case study. This includes a blend who you are, what God is doing, and what’s not working. The following will the the basic outline for our kick-off discussion. How to do the following in your church:Â

Connect your entire congregation (fellowship)

Cultivate healthy small groups (discipleship)

Coaching their spiritual gifts together (ministry)

Challenging them to share their faith with others (evangelism)

Celebrating what God is doing together (worship)Â

In addition, we will use the surveys to help us discuss the 10 areas of small group ministry. Each pastor will have filled out that survey and will incorporate as much as time allows. We will select 2-4 case study churches based on their (survey information) …so please take some time to complete it.  We will use the framework of what’s working, what’s not and what’s next for our time together.

Brett and the team will provide live on the spot coaching for all churches to see and hear. The formal consultation time will end with an opportunity to ask questions will begin.  After you complete the survey each church will be given a conference call number and a pass code. The group will then assemble at the designated time and date in the near future. 

3. Personal Consultation: This Personal Consultation is uniquely targeted for a Senior Pastor and/or Small Group Director. This time allows for a more candidate discussion about staffing, strategy and small group ministry. These are very confidential and accellerated in their approach.  Each Personal Consultation includes a small group readiness questionnaire, private Senior Pastor interview and ministry recommendations. The whole process takes about 3-4 weeks from beginning to end. The personal consultation fee is based on size, stage and complexity of church. All consultations are limited to availability and are offered on a first come first served bases.   

4. Church Consultation: This is the most comprehensive off-site consulting program we offer. It includes a much more in-depth church wide assessment process, interviews from major constituencies, private interviews from Senior Pastor/Group Director, Board Members and select staff.This will be followed by a series of conference calls reviewing the data and creating the framework for the next steps and the Small Group planning process. 

The process will spread over a 60-90 day window. The Church Consultation fee is based on size, stage and complexity of church. All consultations are limited to availability and are offered on a first come first served bases. Senior Pastors are required to participate. 

5. One-Day Onsite Consultation: This is our most common program providing the most accurate assessment and final recommendations for any church wanting to begin and build a healthy Small Group Ministry. This includes the entire church staff; Senior Pastor, Elders and key volunteers. Many times it provides a chance to speak to respective groups from Elders, Board Members to Small Group Leaders.  Many churches will schedule back-to-back meetings with each of the core opinion leaders and their groups. Highly effective for assessing custom DVD production capabilities, interviewing of new and potential staff and strategies for creating their own Fall/Winter campaign. 

This program comes complete with all the features found in the Church Consultation including the comprehensive church assessment including the personal one on one interviews, group presentation, staff meetings and Senior Pastor discussions. The big difference is the onsite advantages and relational benefits. The One-Day Onsite Consultation fee is based on size, stage and complexity of church. All consultations are limited to availability and are offered on a first come, first served bases. 

6. On-Site Small Group Ministry Conference or Training Seminar Based on a wide variety of options, topics and formats hosting a small group conference could be exactly what your church needs. Many times on a Friday Night, Saturday Morning or Sunday Evening format. Over a range of topics from small group leader training, small group connection event (where launch new groups) or hosting a retreat.   The main difference is it’s a message, training, teaching format etc vs a sit down consulting session. Preferred topics include:       

 Small Group Leader Training Seminar (either new or existing) 

Small Group Leader Evening Rally            

Small Group Connection Event (experiential exercise that launches groups)
