AtĀ First Methodist Mansfield, Pastor David Alexander has a very progressive church in a more traditionally-minded community and congregation. We were able to partner with David and provide multiple video curriculum series that aligned with his upcoming teaching series and helped to connect the lion’s share of his congregation into small groups. We did a series around a book that he developed, calledĀ “Deeper Life with God”, that connected more than 70% of the congregation into groups.Ā
After that, we produced a series calledĀ “40-Day Challenge”Ā that leveraged the power and the season of Lent to mobilize people to both lead and to gather in community as they studied along with the sermon series each week. We’ve discovered that Lent is a great time to launch new groups and grow existing ones as people have more spiritual interest during the lead-up to Easter. David brought a high level of expertise and engagement, and the congregation responded marvelously.
